Shelter Dog Rescue Project Sponsorship Program

The Shelter Dog Rescue Project is entirely run and funded by veterinary students at UC Davis. All costs for medical treatment, spaying/neutering, and vaccinating our dogs are paid for by the project. In addition, Foster Homes are provided with all food, leashes, collars, toys, crates, and other needed supplies. All of this can be quite expensive, and the costs of the program are not fully covered by adoption fees.

We launched our Shelter Dog Rescue Project Sponsorship Program in the Spring of 2000 in an attempt to defray more of the costs associated with the project and in the hope that, with more revenue, we will be able to increase the number of dogs we can accept into the program.

In return for your $100 sponsorship, we will place a banner ad on your dog's adoption page. Our web site has received more than 26,000 hits since its launch in January of 2000, averaging 60-70 hits per day during our intensive adoption and foster recruting periods. In addition, the Shelter Dog Rescue Project has been featured on KOVR-TV Channel 13 (January 2000, June 2001), KCRA-TV Channel 3 and KQCA-TV Channel 58 (March 2000), KFBK radio, as well as in the Davis Enterprise (March 2000 and July 2000) and the Daily Democrat (April 2000).
